Good prices. Hot food. Huge portions. The food tastes great and isn't overly greasy. Fish pieces are enormous. You won't be disappointed.

Best fish and chips I had while exploring the maritimes!! Fries are fresh cut "new" PEI grown potatoes and were some of the best fries I've had in a long time. Fish was huge and amazingly tasty. 100% Worth the visit!

Was waiting 55 minutes to be served. Meanwhile all those people who ordered food by phone came in to pick up their's order. People who were sitting at the tables were waiting....and waiting....After 55 minutes, I got the wrong order. Left immediately. Never come again.....

Tried to eat there with my family but it was a total failure so I have to give this restaurant a big fat zero. We sat down and wait for about 15 mins with no server in sight. We asked the table next to us what the deal was and they said they had already waited over 20 mins and all that happened so far was they ordered some pricey bottled water and were still waiting to order food. At that point we left. The place was very dirty with flies everywhere, and it stinks of old cooking oil. Would definitely not recommend this place to anyone, especially considering there are so many other great Fish and Chips places close-by.

I Got A Gift Card For Skip's Fish n Chips For Christmas Last Year And A Few Weeks Later I Decided To Try It Out, I Pulled Into The Parking Lot And Wasn't Expecting Much When I Went In But I was Proven Wrong. They Have Wonderful Nautical Scenery And Some Of The Best Seafood I Have Ever Had.

The fish was out of this world. Batter was light and crispy and the fish was light and fluffy !

The place is great. Most of the bad reviews concern the owner's personal views on political topics and have nothing to do with the restaurant's service or food. It's a nice place to take family for a wholesome dinner out.

Interior is a bit run down and kind of greasy, but the food was good. Fish was nice and fresh, and fries were delicious as well. Water was $1, which was a bit disappointing. We came around 3:00 p.m. in the afternoon and were immediately seated. Locals who all know each other seem to visit often too. Comments only pertain to the food, not the remarks about homosexuality made by the owner.

A good nautical theme inside but a bit messy. Good food. The owner is homophobic and was in the news for it.

Reasonable prices, generous portions. Fries were overcooked, greasy and tasted stale, which was odd considering the cook was continually making new batches. Maybe the oil she used was too old and the temperature too low?

My bestie ate here, got rude service and food poisoning. Would not recommend.

The fish and chips may well be great. We never found out. After waiting patiently without being served, or even had our order taken, then seeing the next table coming in well after us but having their order taken immediately was just too much. Why should we have to fight for our food at the end of a long tiring day? We walked out. Others can make up their own minds if they want to try for a better experience. We wont be travelling this way again, but if we did we certainly wouldn't come back here.

Fantastic. Not sure what else to say? If you want fancy dining...this is not it. If you want great, fresh seafood, awesome fries and friendly service this is your spot. Price is great for portion. Must try!

The food was very good, but they served no ice for your drink, nor any water, you had to buy a bottle of water if you wanted water. There was a definite feel of attitude in the air from the man, don't know his name, of unwelcoming. Won't be going back.

The guy that owns it is very personable. The fish and chips were pretty good. We paid 35 ish for two meals of 1 fish with chips, plus a tea and a pop. The fish is massive. I'd consider myself to have a reasonable appetite and I couldn't finish it. The tartar came in a package but it tasted good. The washrooms were extremely clean. I'd go back.

Really, really a great spot and an absolute must if you happen to be in the Summerside, OR if you happen to be within driving distance of Summerside and have a penchant for good fish and chips. If the latter is the case then this place is seriously a destination in and of itself. Great locals-only spot. Everybody knows everybody. Food is amazing AND well-priced. You will leave very satisfied and likely have great conversations with locals filled with good travel tips.Enjoy.

Hit this place while on vacation. Food was amazing. The locals told me this was the place to go, and they were right. I loved everything from the food to the service to the atmosphere. I will definitely remember this place if I come back.

Greasy food, slow service and an awful environment. Can't help but feel bad for tourists visiting here who think they've had good PEI fish. If you want actual quality where you don't have to wait upwards of 20 minutes, don't have to put up with rude, closed-minded staff, and (believe it or not) DON'T have to pay for water, there are many, many better Island restaurants you can visit.Added bonus: Most other owners aren't sexist, homophobic bigots.... so that's always a plus too!

I’m not sure if there was controversy lately, but the one star reviews are completely off. The fish were fresh. I’m a fish snob and they were damn well perfect. The owner is a great, down to earth guy and the servers go above and beyond. Try the tartar sauce. It’s out of this world. If you’re visiting PEI you owe it to yourself to visit this place. I thought restaurants like this just don’t exist anymore.

Wow! These 1 star people represent what is wrong with the world today. Typical leftist/extreme liberal drivel aimed at ruining a business just because they disagree with the owner's politics. They should be ashamed of themselves. Skips not only has the best fish and chips in Summerside but probably all of PEI. AND, the deal he offers for a one-piece fish and chips is without question the best offer anywhere. One huge piece of fish, a ton of fries, a can of soda...plus an ice cream sundae desert. All for a very reasonable price. If you love fish and chips this is the place to go!!!

I haven't been to it but I think the business is being unfairly treated for other reasons and I'm leaving a good rating to counter it. Seems like they have good food from what I can gather and I'll be sure to check it out if I'm in town.I think it's ridiculous that the owner is being called "homophobic" for expressing a concern about "leftist agenda" and "racist" for not using halal meat. C'mon. If someone doesn't use kosher salt, does that make him an anti-Semitic?
